Chief of Staff to the CEO

Location: London, Canada
Position Summary: Pulse is seeking a strategic and results-oriented individual to support the Chief Executive Officer to drive business initiatives from development through successful execution. Responsibilities include developing frameworks, processes and tools to drive efficiency and productivity across the organization including but not limited to product development, business development, growth strategy, operations, and sales and marketing. You will collaborate with senior executives within the Pulse organization as well as key client leaders and stakeholders. The ideal candidate for this role has both strategy and operations experience, excellent communications skills and strong executive presence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive business priorities, execute special projects or initiatives on behalf of the CEO
  • Synthesize information and data across the organization for improved alignment and engagement
  • Set the agendas of Executive Leadership Team meetings and ensure successful preparation and organization of these meetings
  • Function as the point person for the CEO related to measuring progress against strategic initiatives and prepare for executive level presentations
  • Build and develop relationships with all employees for increased efficiency and effective responsiveness
  • Develop dashboards and KPIs providing guidance to Executive Leadership Team on strategy and delivery on behalf of the CEO, measure and report on progress

Qualifications:

  • BA/BS in business, economics, engineering, natural sciences; MBA preferred
  • At least 5 years of experience in a business management or project management role
  • Demonstrated experience identifying and implementing strategic and operational improvements and managing organizational projects; experience setting up frameworks and governance models
  • Experience holding teams accounting for their KPIs and key reports
  • Experience leading strategic initiatives and as well as developing and delivering presentations to executive audiences
  • Strong decision-making, communication and collaboration skills with proven relationship building skills
  • Expert in leading, mentoring, and motivating teams
  • Comfort in and experience with the challenges of a start-up either as a new company or within a larger organization

Product Manager

Locations: Boston, MA & London, Canada
Position Summary: Pulse is seeking an exceptional product manager to work with the Executive and Technical Leadership Teams on priority products. You will collaborate with senior executives within the Pulse organization as well as key client leaders and stakeholders. The ideal candidate for this role has exceptional product management, project management, and leadership experience, and a strong passion for innovation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work with our worldwide and US business development and our CEO in the formulation of product strategy, vision, and roadmap
  • Work closely with the Chief Operating Officer and Chief Development Officer in the definition and delivery of the product vision
  • Manage the product roadmap and facilitate product management sessions with the senior team
  • Be the primary focal point with our clients in the delivery of our solutions to them
  • Lead and prepare business use cases, requirements, and definitions for our product backlog and sprint grooming
  • Key member of agile sprints, including roles such as scrum master, product owner, and tester
  • Contribute to agile sprint activities including sprint grooming, planning, daily stand ups, demonstrations, and retrospectives
  • Key contributor in establishing and maintaining good communications with international clients in different time zones
  • Prepare acceptance criteria, interact closely with our development teams, and provide clarity and guidance throughout the product execution and delivery
  • Ability to work with distributed and remote teams, in the context of an agile environment
  • Be the platform evangelist and have deep knowledge on the platform and its capabilities and features
  • Review platform issues and establish the priorities for remediation with the development team
  • Lead the issue triage sessions working with development and operations members
  • Mentor junior members of team, esp. in agile methodologies

Qualifications:

  • BS/BA in Economics, Business, Marketing, Engineering, Computer Science or related field
  • At least 5 years of product management experience; experience in healthcare a plus
  • Experience working in organizations having used the Agile development methodology
  • Familiarity with the use of collaboration technologies supporting Agile development (Confluence, JIRA)
  • Acquires thorough understanding of the expectations and requirements of the engagements they lead

Data Scientist

Locations: Boston, MA & London, Canada
Position Summary: Pulse is seeking an exceptional data engineer to work with the Technical Leadership Team on priority client projects. You will collaborate with senior executives within the Pulse organization as well as key client leaders and stakeholders. The ideal candidate for this role has exceptional data engineering, project management, and leadership experience and a strong passion for innovation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare engineering designs related to data-centric capabilities, including integration connectors (EMR, genomic, clinical trial), data management (data quality and enrichment, record linking), and data science (workbench, tooling, visualization)
  • Implement data-centric capabilities in collaboration with onshore and offshore teams
  • Provide project management planning and support with respect to new client implementations
  • Work closely with product management in the definition and delivery of data-centric backlog features
  • Work with the architecture team to formulate and evolve code standards and design patterns related to data engineering
  • Work with the data science team to define, implement and guide business intelligence initiatives
  • Participate in the definition and delivery of data science and natural language processing models and initiatives
  • Mature the DevOps and SDLC processes in collaboration with the Pulse Chief Development Manager and Product Management
  • Manage the overall technical complexity and execution for the team around data initiatives
  • Identify technical risks and mitigation approaches
  • Apply best practices code standards and design patterns, focusing on reusability and consolidation patterns
  • Perform mentoring and development of junior members in engineering practices, software development, and data science initiatives

Qualifications:

  • BS in Computer Science or equivalent field; MS/PhD in Computer Science desired
  • At least 4 years of experience in data engineering; experience in healthcare a plus
  • Mastery of engineering fundamentals and best practices
  • Strong analytics and analytics visualization experience
  • Project management experience with identifiable history of contributing to complex engineering projects from inception to successful conclusion
  • Proven track record in mentoring and coaching junior members
  • Excellent agile SDLC experience and practices with a past track record delivering agile platforms.
  • Experienced in different machine learning and data science models and algorithms
  • Strong experience in software data security practices and OWASP
  • Acquires thorough understanding of the expectations and requirements of the engagements they lead
  • A willingness to work outside their standard comfort zone and wear multiple hats in order to deliver for the corporation and/or client

Executive Assistant to the CEO

Location: London, Ontario, Canada
Compensation: Full time position with salary, commensurate with experience. Benefits package included.
Position Summary: We are looking for an Executive Assistant who is excited to be a part of a passionate and growing team. The Executive Assistant is an essential person within the organization and for the CEO. A successful candidate must be detail-oriented, highly organized, have exceptional interpersonal skills and has the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and be willing to learn and be flexible in their approach. Candidates must submit a resume and cover letter.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Managing and maintaining the CEO's complex itinerary by arranging meetings and appointments between external and internal contacts taking into consideration travel time between appointments
  • Booking, coordinating and arranging travel, hotel and car reservations and prepare itineraries (international and domestic)
  • Preparing CEO for meetings; making sure research has been done, materials are ready and shared in advance, and presentations have been revised and formatted
  • Tracking meeting and appointments invitations, facilities, catering (special menu), equipment, agendas, minutes, follow-up on action items, guest liaison and other related requirements
  • Conducting research on relevant topics to support meetings and conferences the CEO is attending
  • Preparing and distributing a variety of correspondence on the CEO's behalf
  • Preparing monthly expenses
  • Helping to ensure organization to the CEO's day to day
  • Maintaining both an electronic and paper filing system
  • Other tasks and assignments may be assigned as required

Skills You Need:

Qualifications:
